Amazing how 2007 is wrapping up quickly and 2008 is just around the corner. The last few months we have experienced both encouraging and discouraging days in this process of sharing our vision and desire to go serve God in Mexico. We were encouraged to hear that churches in both Spain and Mexico may be interested in partnering financially with us! However, anyone who has spoken with us in the last few months or who has checked out this blog will know that this past August was our original goal for a departure date. As we have seen with many other sojourners, the process can be drawn out and last even a few years. So, we are not definining a clear-cut goal at this time, but are trusting in God's timing as we move along.
We have definitely found that with each encounter where we can talk about our plans with others, we are encouraged and refreshed by the support and affirmation given by the people with whom we share. Mexico continues to be a harvest field that is ripe and we are thrilled to be a part of God's process of drawing people unto Himself. We long to be an extension of Jesus' body in the world in that specific corner.
Please continue praying for focus, direction, opportunities to share, people willing to partner with us. We have been working full time throughout this process, so it has been difficult to balance family life with Samuel and Rebeca as well as together as a couple with the additional extra time involved with reaching out to others. We need wisdom in choosing which sacrifices to make and ensure we are productively using our time when we do have to give up time as a family.
